Big Fred's Bytes - Sept. 22nd Edition
This is a mid month update from Harvest Community Church. We are all quite busy as we move into our Fall schedule. I am excited by some of the testimonies of the community groups coming back together and planning some activities in addition to the weekly meeting. It is not too late to join a group. If you are interested in attending one and are having trouble finding something for you, please email Pastor Fred at firstname.lastname@example.org . We have gotten a lot of good feedback about the outline being used in the sermon, and I hope you are finding it helpful.
We are currently seeking individuals that at willing to commit to preparing for service in the jail ministry. If you are interested in this, please contact Steve Tack / email@example.com . Steve will meet with you to discuss the ministry needs and a training plan for you. This team meets inside the jail in a controlled environment and brings the truth from God’s Word a couple times a week. We have seen many willingly receive this instruction at such a needy time in their lives.
Are you registered to vote in the November election? If not, you should consider registering ASAP. In order to vote this fall, you must complete the registration process by October 2nd. We will have a table at the church with voter registration cards for your convenience. That is the first step. Next, you will need to decide who to cast your vote for ~ and let me say “They DO count!” This part will cause you to collect information on the candidates running for office and learn what they have stood for over the years. TV commercials are usually not the best place to gather this information as it is “always” self serving for someone. We are going to have non-partisan position statements available at the church closer to the election for you to review and share with your friends. We encourage you to do just that ~ “Talk to others”. We do not take a position toward political parties. But we do believe these issues should be reviewed by all Christians, and further, those Christians should support issues/candidates that are in keeping with the principles we stand for biblically. Your voice will make a difference. Register to vote, and then learn about the candidates. THEN, VOTE! If you need a ride to election sites, that can be arranged if you let us know far enough in advance. Feel free to email me on that need at firstname.lastname@example.org .

I encourage each of you to take a moment and reflect on the cornerstone of your life. … the foundation of your life…
Ephesians 2: 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
