Big Fred's Bytes

Big Fred's Bytes - June 26, 2020

COVID content limited to essentials.

It has been good to gather and worship together over the last few weeks are we are looking forward to seeing more of you when you are ready to be in fellowship.  While COVID did not disappear, we are finding more and more ways to take appropriate steps to minimize risks, especially for our higher risk friends, as we resume activities.  When you’re ready to gather personally, keep in mind that you will have the opportunity to select a green, yellow, or red sticker coming in the front door of all of our buildings.   Your selection helps to communicate to others your comfort level for personal contact/interaction.  Please respect the decisions of others by looking for their sticker and allow appropriate space.

We are not to the point that we believe we can open all of our ancillary ministries, but we look forward to taking some of these steps by September and will keep you updated.

In the meantime, keep in mind that we are here to help and serve your needs.  The church (which is the people, not the building) is still very active in carrying out ministry throughout our communities.  Your Campus Pastor can provide more specific details when you are ready to take another step.

Important Update – You will be seeing some formatting changes to our Church Management Software.  We are transitioning from Church Community Builder’s platform to Planning Center Online to support all of our ministries and back office functions.  Many of you may not notice much of a change but for some, we will need to get you up to speed to support ministry leadership efforts.  Here is a link that would be helpful for anyone to click through some short videos that help explain some simple steps to take full advantage of our new software.

One big area included in this change that we need to alert everyone to is our online giving platform.  They have made it very easy to give (here is a short 2 minute video showing how simple it is - )   Check  out the giving link on the Harvest Website (   Our office staff will be available to help anyone walk through these steps personally if you are having any questions.  There are two big reasons we changed our software:

1) Ease of use (once you get set up, you will find it very user friendly).

2) Cost to the Church – (we should see a significant savings in our processing fees).

Be sure to be checking your spam / junk filters to avoid our new emails getting lost through your email filters.  Once you mark these a priority email, you should not have any problems with that.

The office has transferred profile data for you and you can log on and verify and update your information.  (Check it out and add your photo too).

Harvest Jamboree 2020-  We are ready for you to start signing up to help us make this a great weekend for all.   We need food, setup & clean up, and safety teams as well as people to help with Kidz teaching and games.  We are also ready to start reserving your camping spots.  Trailers & RV spots are available for $25 per night (Thursday thru Sunday).  Tent sites are free but  must still  be reserved ahead.

Harvest Jamboree 2020 T shirts are available by preorder ($5.00 for kids sizes thru adult XL.  Slightly higher price for XX or XXX.  Order your shirts now and we will have them for you before the Jamboree.  We should have some extra shirts still  available at the fairgrounds at a higher cost.

Our schedule is still coming together but here is what we know:  Harvest will partner with the Dayton Fairgrounds sponsors to bring Building 429 band in on Friday night.  Advance ticket information will go out soon.  Saturday will include a 5/10K race, kidz programs, games, inflatables, animals, The Echo Valley Girls will be playing late afternoon and the Carpenter Ants in the evening.  Don’t forget the Fireworks after dark.  Baptism service, church information meeting, bible classes, corn hole, horseshoes and much more.  I forgot the Saturday Pig Roast for supper!  Sunday, all campus church service will only be at the Fairgrounds.
