Big Fred's Bytes - August 17th Edition
Here is a quick note on a couple things coming up in the next few weeks around Harvest. I encourage your participation. I am sure we are all so busy with summer coming to an end and the need to get ready for school. I will try to keep this brief with just a couple sentences on each topic.
Community Group sign up is underway, so you will want to get signed up quickly. We have several new groups plus many returning groups from last spring. Check out the flyers outside the sanctuary to find a time that works for you. Let Pastor Fred know if you need more information. If you are a Community Group leader, you will want to set aside Monday August 29th for training at the Kittanning Campus from 7-9pm.
Sunday school teacher training is set for Saturday August 27th. If you have not talked with Pastor Dave in regards to helping in the Harvest Kids or Harvest Students area and are willing to do so, just give him a call at 724 996 9588. Also, the Summer Splash Swim Party is on August 20th at the Belmont Pool. All families with a child under grade six are encouraged to attend. The swimming kicks off around 6:15 and food/beverages will be available. Don’t forget that the Youth will begin meeting on Monday evenings this fall instead of Wednesdays.
MOPS (Mothers Of Pre Schoolers) will begin meeting every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month starting in September. The moms gather at 9:30 till about 11:30am with activities for the kids available. Stop by and check out their table on Sunday. You can also email MOPS@harvestpa.org for more information.
Labor Day weekend promises to be an exciting time as we will be hosting many International Students in our homes and church. We will be arranging transportation of the students to Kittanning where they will meet with their host family for the weekend. We will also have two picnics available Saturday afternoon and early evening that many of the students will likely attend. Everyone is welcome to stop by and get to know a little more about the student’s home country and culture. The picnics will start around 3 pm. They will both be at homes along the river so swimming suits and towels will be your ticket to a cool day…

There will be an additional opportunity to talk with the students after the second service the next day at the Kittanning Campus while we share a light lunch. Again this is Saturday September 3rd and Sunday September 4th.
We will be offering the membership class this fall on Sunday evenings starting on Sunday, September 25th at 7 pm. If you are not currently a member of Harvest, we invite you to consider making Harvest Community Church your church. If you need more information regarding Harvest, just give me a call or sign up for the class. Membership covenants are only considered after taking the class. Membership books are provided the first night of class.
If you have experience in organizing a Turkey Shoot, Trap Shoot, or 3D Archery Shoot, please let us know. We are considering some activities within these topics. You can mark your connect card to let us know over the next 2 weeks. More information will be shared once we have a chance to talk it over.
