Big Fred's Bytes - April Edition Part I

What a great Easter! I just want to thank all you servants who helped to bring our Easters services together. You did such an awesome job!!! We celebrated this most important time with two Maundy Thursday communion services, four regular worship services, and an Easter Bible School for the kids. Between both campuses, we had about 950 people visit during the Sat/Sun services. Praise God with “all” your heart. We must keep in mind that it is not about people coming into the building though; it is about helping them glorify God in their lives, and that is the work we set out to do. Thank you all for being committed to complete your part in this effort. We are so thankful for each of you.
The video is being recorded each service now, and we are playing it in Petrolia each Sunday. If you have not visited the Petrolia Campus to see it for yourself – what are you waiting for? There are a few things that still need tweaked as we learn many things in this process, but overall – it is already looking great.
We are still putting together our training plan for those that will be serving in the operation of this equipment each week. It is not too late to be a part of the Tech Team. If you have an interest in learning more, email me as soon as possible.
Do not miss the Men’s Retreat next weekend and the Beth Moore Simulcast on April 24th. We would like everyone that can possibly make it to attend. If you need a ride or financial help, let me know as soon as possible, because we want to help get you there.
Many have been talking about getting together to go for a motorcycle ride with our friends from HCC, so we are trying it. Come to the Kittanning Campus on Saturday May 1st at 12:30 pm for an afternoon of riding and making plans for the summer. We also plan to include a small fundraiser for the Kittanning Life Choices’ office in the event. Who knows, we might even include a ride this summer to the river for baptisms.
Well, the Elders are considering the usage of the Cobblestone system, and as of right now, it looks like we are going to put this on the shelf at the end of May. However, we would like to hear from you and collect your comments regarding the value in such a program as well as any positive/negative feedback on how this particular program worked.
Please consider any questions that you may have regarding the operation of the ministries of Harvest Community Church. If you would get them to us in an email or on a “connect card”, we want to make sure that we get you some answers and plan to do that at the May 2nd Information Meeting. We are planning a light lunch and invite you to bring a dessert to share. The food will be available immediately following the second service, and the meeting will start about 1 pm. We have been reviewing the membership covenants on file and will be sharing our needs to update our membership list. I hope you can join us as we share this information over some food and fun. We also plan to update you on several church ministries, as well as our finances at that time.
I encourage you to pray for each of our leaders in the church regularly. God is doing many good things among us, but we must continue to seek Him in everything we do and set our minds on His Word. There will be many challenging times for us all. We shall choose to love each other, even in the difficult times.
Love will unite us in Christ, even with our diversity.
Ephesians 4: 11-16
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
